Then, in the afternoon, we ended up sitting at Le Nemrod and watching the people, Marty trying to snap as many pretty women wearing what he calls 'the uniform' (*see explanation below)...even the seniors wear it.
Then we went over to Bon Marche, the nearby department store, and did something we never do, at least not together...tested perfumes!! We both found some scents we liked and had so much fun at all the counters practicing our French aroma vocabulary with the sales girls in the process.

We're going to have a simple dinner tonight in one of the local bistros nearby, so we can get home early tonight and pack up for tomorrow's move. We have to be out by 10am.
*The Uniform:
It became apparent soon after we landed that Parisian women wear pretty much the same style everywhere. There are unlimited varieties, colors and match ups that make up the "uniform" formula but, for the most part it is pretty much universal for Parisian women of all ages. It consists of skin-tight jeans (mostly dark)...can substitute stretch tights if you wish, high leather boots, and waist coats. 'The Uniform' is ubiquitous, and what really makes it work and be so special is that, no matter what their height is, so many French women have long, thin legs that literally go all the way up to their arm pits. Seriously, women from teens to the elderly wear the uniform to go shopping, sit in cafes, stroll the boulevards, and schmooze with friends. Add to this the necessary scarf wound decoratively around the neck, and you complete the uniform. I have started a campaign to document as many uniform wearing women as possible, but mostly those so striking as to make you stop in awe and take your breath away. You will begin to see some of my images in future blogs. Stay tuned...Marty!
